Resumen : Introduction: The equality of women and men is only possible from social and political commitments, the laws contribute to accelerate the processes of change. Objective: To analyze the status of the incorporation of the gender perspective in the nursing degree in Spain. Methodology: Analytical, reviewing, first of all, the scientific literature, the legislation on this matter, the institutional production and, later, the teaching programs of public universities. Results: The incorporation of the gender perspective in the nursing degree is still uneven and scarce, only 25% of the public centers have added it in the 2018-2019 academic year. Discussion: If we ask about the causes of this state of affairs, we find that there is no legal obligation, but recommendations. So it remains to the voluntariness of the rectoral teams to implement it or not. Conclusions: To achieve real and effective equality between women and men also in the field of health, a firm legislative and academic commitment is required. A professional competition can not be executed if it has not been previously acquired.
