Resumen : | Objective: To know the degree of satisfaction of caregivers of patients who have received palliative care at community level by a specialized team. Method: Descriptive cross-sectional study of 37 self-administered surveys to caregivers of patients who died between January and September 2018 who have received attention by the support team of home care(ESAD) V area of Asturias. Related variables were analyzed with satisfaction and characteristics of the caregiver and patient, using in the descriptive analysis the mean, standard deviation and frequency distribution and in the bivariate analysis, the Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal-Wallis test and χ2.Defined level of statistical significance with a value of p<0.05 and a confidence interval (CI) of 95%. Results: The satisfaction was high. The items are the best valued information on treatments, disease and evolution and kindness in the treatment. The worst rated are pain control, symptoms and helps the caregiver to face death. Significant relationships were found in pain control with kinship, place of death and respect of desires and in control of symptoms and coping with the death of the family member with kinship and respect for wishes. Conclusions: The caregiver satisfaction increases when the patient dies at home, if the team helped him to a duel quiet, in kinship children and when respected the previous instructions. The satisfaction was high although it presents areas for improvement in approach of mourning and symptomatic control. |
