Resumen : This chapter explains the climate and landscape characteristics of the Picos de Europa during the Upper Paleolithic and the Late Prehistory. The archeological sites distribution in this environment is shown, highlighting the scarce but significant archeological finds from the highest areas. We analyse the transit options through this mountainous landscape based on mobility patterns of the human groups in prehistoric times.
