Situación de la ganadería de leche y viabilidad de su producción ecológica en Asturias

Abstract

Asturias’ agricultural and rural economy is made up of a number of types of production, processing and services. Amongst these, those related to bovine cattle hold a predominant position. In particular, bovine dairy cattle continues to hold the most weight in the region in terms of agrarian income or gross added value for the agrifood industry. However, said livestock and its development process are in a state of crisis, so it is arguably justified to explore the viability of alternative productive systems, such as organic production.
