| dc.description | Las condiciones naturales de Asturias propiciaron la conservación del Asturcón libre de mestizajes hasta 1930. Posteriormente, las repoblaciones forestales, que expulsaron de los montes comunales a las manadas de asturcones así como a otras especies domésticas, junto con los cruzamientos realizados para obtener animales de mayor tamaño y peso contribuyeron decisivamente al declive del asturcón en muchas zonas. En 1970 se tomaron medidas para asegurar la supervivencia de la especie y se iniciaron trabajos encaminados a su recuperación. | - |
| dc.description.abstract | Asturias’ natural conditions aided the conservation of the pure breed of Asturcon pony, with no crossbreeding, until 1930. Subsequently, forestry reforestation pushed out the herds of Asturcon ponies from common-use woodland as well as other domestic species. This, together with crossbreeding that was carried out to obtain larger and heavier animals, contributed decisively to the decline of the Asturcon pony in many areas. In 1970, measures were taken to ensure the survival of the species and work began on recuperating its numbers. | en_US |
