dc.descriptionEl Área de Sanidad Animal del Servicio Regional de Investigación y Desarrollo Agroalimentario (SERIDA), cuyo trabajo se centra en el estudio de las enfermedades de los animales domésticos, ha ido acercándose gradualmente a un tema que va cobrando gran importancia como es el de la fauna silvestre. Pruebas de esta importancia, son la existencia en la Universidad de departamentos dedicados a la ecopatología (estudio de las enfermedades en relación con los ecosistemas), la creación dentro del Consejo Superior de Investiga ciones Científicas (CSIC) de centros como el Instituto de Investigación en Recursos Cinegéticos de Ciudad Real y en el ámbito internacional, la gran difusión de revistas científicas como el Journal of Wildlife Diseases o de asociaciones como el Grupo de Estudios sobre Ecopatología de la Fauna Silvestre de Montaña (GEEFSM).-
dc.description.abstractThe Animal Health Department of the Regional Agri-food Research and Development Service (SERIDA) works on studying the diseases of pets. It has gradually moved towards a theme that is gaining importance, which is wild fauna. Proof of its importance is the existence of departments in the University that are dedicated to ecopathology (the study of illnesses related to ecosystems), the creation of centres such as the Hunting Research Institute of Ciudad Real within the National Scientific Research Council (CSIC). On an international level, it can be seen in the high numbers of subscriptions to scientific journals such as the Journal of Wildlife Diseases or associations such as the Study Group on the Ecopathology of Wild Mountain Fauna (GEEFSM).en_US
