Georrepresentación de registros administrativos. El caso del paro en Asturias

Abstract

This research presents an approach to the study of registered unemployment in Asturias. It combines two tools: administrative records and geographic information systems (GIS). It also tries to advance the use of data at a more disaggregated level than the municipality, as there is a gap in official statistics that exploit relevant data to this level of detail. We experience a method for the intramunicipal disaggregation of information, using postal code as a reference, as a standard identifier, commonly used both by individuals and companies. Processing available data in administrative records by GIS application help to identify areas where registered unemployed concentrate and its characteristics. This may be interesting information for the planning or design of policies to address unemployment problem.
