Atención de Enfermería a Pacientes con Cáncer de Mama y en riesgo de desarrollar Linfedema.

Abstract

Breast Cancer is the most common neoplasm in spanish women. One in four women may develop secondary lymphedema due to lymphadenectomy or axillary radiotherapy. In Primary Health Care we must anticipate its appearance, as once it is stablished, it turns into a chronic problem. Primary Care Nursing is considered the central figure in prevention and management of lymphedema, given that she keeps a closer and more frequent contact with the patients, within a multidisciplinary team. This work tries to update the knowledgment about its prevention and treatment.
