BVgcSalud: biblioteca virtual del Sistema Sanitario Público Asturiano

Abstract

BVgcSalud is the virtual library of the Asturian Public Sanitary System (SESPA), it is the tool that serves as a support to the healthcare activity, teacher and researcher of health professionals. There are several resources available: access to databases, evidence-based medicine resources, image banks and catalogs of magazines and books, both electronic and paper, from the Network of Libraries of the Health Service. It also offers a series of services: the Document Obtaining Service (SOD), which allows users to request articles that are not accessible to each user's reference library and the Bibliographic Search Service that supports users when they need them. The BVgcSalud has its own search engine, called BuscaBvgcSalud, which searches within the resources contracted by the institution. And, thanks to the implementation of remote access, it allows its users to connect to the library from home or from any network. All this is accessible from the Astursalud Institutional Portal.
