Resumen : In recent years, the prevalence of type 2 diabetes has increased, reaching 15.3% in the Valencian Community. A basic pillar in good metabolic control is therapeutic adherence, which is why today, according to the World Health Organization, therapeutic compliance is a priority health issue. Objetives The main objective is to determine the adherence to pharmacological treatment and the healthy lifestyles of type 2 diabetics at the Benicasim health center in the period from July 2017 to December 2017. Methodology An observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out using the Morisky-Green survey and the instrument to measure lifestyle in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (IMEVID). A total of 151 patients diagnosed with the ICD 250 Diabetes mellitus type 2 at the Benicasim health center were included. For the univariate analysis, the point estimate and the 95% confidence interval were calculated and for the bivariate analysis the Chi square for the qualitative variants and the Student's T for qualitative and quantitative variants were calculated. Results It was found that 98% of the people analyzed had a healthy or very healthy lifestyle while adherence to pharmacological treatment was 29.8%. Conclusions It has been shown that there is still non-compliance with treatment, which makes it necessary to continue research to improve therapeutic adherence through health education.
