Resumen : Objective: The main objective of this work was to assess the presence of the amotivational syndrome in an adult sample of cannabis users. Method: To this end, a descriptive study of the consumer profile was carried out in the city of Gijón, province of Asturias, to compare the different consumption modalities with the motivation deficit of the participants. An adaptation of the frontal behavior scale (FrSBe-Sp) was used to measure the amotivational syndrome of the respondents, dividing it into three dimensions, interest, initiative and social relations. Results: According to the collected data, it is observed that the increase in apathy is directly related to the habit of consumption, in particular with the time of exposure to the drug, showing no association with the time variables from the cessation of consumption and quantity of daily consumption. There is also no evidence that the use of other drugs and sex influence the level of motivation of the sample. Conclusions: the results show the probable presence of amotivational syndrome associated with a higher consumption of cannabis, as a relationship is seen in the increase of apathy and therefore the appearance of this study symptomatology
