Resumen: The archaeological excavations carried out at the monastery of San Juan Bautista de Corias between 2005 and 2012 provided the most complex, varied and extensive ceramic record currently documented in the south-west of Asturias. In this paper we present the characterization and analysis of a part of this pottery set. We have organized the evidence in chronological groups, technological groups and production groups, within 1560 to 1835 AD chronology. On the other hand, the Expense’s Account Records from the 18th century found in the monastery offer valuable in-formation on the acquisition of pottery by this community. The cross-study of both records, material and textual, unveils an accurate radiography on the monastic community consumption habits. Furthermore, it gives insight into the monks’ capacity to access different productions of local, Iberian and foreign pottery throughout the three occupation phases of the Benedictine establishment in the Modern Age. Finally, this work will undoubtedly offer a chronotypological framework for the comparison and study of ceramics in future archaeological investigations in this geographical area.
