| Resumen : | This article studies the Dominican convent of Sancti Spiritus de Toro, founded by Teresa Gil in 1307. It analyses the different phases of construction of the convent and the functionality of its different spaces. Despite the additions, revolutions, disentailments, reconstructions and restorations, some of which are poorly documented, the institution has survived to the present day. As well as the church, it has preserved most of the two cloisters and a large part of the spaces that open onto them. It is therefore an excellent example for studying the architecture of the female branch of the Order of Preachers, which has not attracted the same interest as that of its brothers. |
