Inundaciones en la cueva de Tito Bustillo (Ribadesella, Asturias). Un fenómeno recurrente por las crecidas del río San Miguel

Abstract

This comunication focuses on the floods that have occurred in the Tito Bustillo cave in recent years. These floods are a recurrent phenomenon due to the flooding of the San Miguel river; a river that flows into the karst complex where the cave is located and which runs parallel and underground to a large part of the cave gallery. The floods, both current and historical, cause a whole series of effects that condition both the normal development of tourist visits and different conservation problems in some of the cave's artistic ensembles.
