Resumen : This article is a review on the care of Erectile Dysfunction (ED) and its approach from Primary Health Care. The strategy and sources used were consulted through the Virtual Library gcSalud of Asturias, performing a critical analysis of each selected item. Regarding the results, the basic guidelines for action from the first level of assistance include: a correct assessment of the sexual pattern and major factors associated with ED (cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, etc.), promoting healthy lifestyles (weight control, exercise and abandonment of harmful habits) and advice on the main therapeutic measures. The first-line therapies include: oral medication I-PDE5, testosterone and psychosexual therapy; second line: mechanical (type of vacuum devices) and drug (alprostadil injection or trasnsuretral); and third line: surgery (penile prosthesis and penile revascularization). We must not forget the increasingly widespread complementary therapies such as pelvic muscle exercises or use ICTs. Enhance self-esteem, work with the couple in the case of stable couples, recommending flexible sex is a positive predictor.
