Protocolo de prevención, actuación y evacuación ante un incendio en el Centro de Salud El Llano (Gijón)

Abstract

Within the quality of the customer’s attention, patient’s safety highlights. This is why a protocol for fire prevention, action and evacuation has been developed at El Llano’s Primary Health Care Center (Gijón). This protocol includes specific formation in this area of the professionals who constitute the intervention group, with well defined functions, periodic inspections of the fire extinguishing systems and an annual simulation exercise in which all professionals of the center and other services (police and firemen) are involved. The objective is to describe the actuation of the professionals who work in the Primary Health Care Center in case of fire and/or evacuation, as well as to promote and implement our protocol for fire safety in other health centers. The development and implementation of this protocol, and drills, face people to different situations in which they get the experience needed to act in case of evacuation of the Health Center, helping to achieve safety objectives and overall quality
