| Resumen : | Fernando Buide del Real (1980), Compostelan composer, pianist and organist, was trained at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and awarded Ph.D. by Yale University. He has been winner of several awards -such as Harry Archer (2006), Michael Friedmann (2012) and the AEOS-BBVA Competition (2013), with his work Fragmentos del Satiricón. His music, mostly has been played not only in the USA, England, Italy but also performed by the most important Spanish orchestras. Due to the wide range of its catalog, with more than 30 compositions, it has been preferred to focus this paper on vocal music -i.e. texts in Galician. What we are trying to find out, is whether his inspiration in Galician poetry is one of the main features of his compositional style, throughout an aesthetic analysis of four of his works. The methodology will be based on personal interviews with the composer himself. A biographical outline will be highlighted to disseminate the work of this musician, who is in absolute compositional rate and has a good grip on the audience and critics. |
